June 2024 Showcase:
“Pop stars on broadway”
On June 8th, 2024, we held our 13th annual Spring Showcase, “Pop Stars on Broadway!”, at the Fort Hamilton Army Base theatre. 🎶✨🎉 This year we took of some of the most iconic Broadway shows inspired by some of the most iconic pop stars, put our own twist on them, and sang our hearts out to some of our favorite songs!! As usual, each class was assigned a different pop star to represent and then from January through June we worked on creating, learning, and performing scripts, songs, and choreography related to that pop star! Some featured shows included: SIX the Musical, MJ the Musical, Elvis the Musical, Cindy Lauper- Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!, & Juliet, Once Upon a One More Time, and more! We can not say enough, just how proud we are of all of our students. They worked so hard all year and truly brought some “jam” worthy songs to life and made everyone want to get up and dance. A huge thank you to everyone- our staff, crew, and backstage helpers- who made the show possible. We are always so elated to see the progress from the beginning of the year through show day and we can’t wait to see what the ‘24/’25 season brings🩵 See below for some pictures to look back on :)

“Once Upon a One More Time” : Monday 5:45 - Theatre Troupe (featuring iconic Britney Spears hits to tell the story of how everyone’s favorite fairytale characters took back control of their stories!)
“The Reunion Tour” : Monday 4:45 - Acting 101 (telling the story of a band’s journey to find their long lost bandmate and get the band back together!)
“& Juliet”: Friday 6:30 - Broadway Bound Crew (BBC) (featuring music from modern pop stars to tell the story of Romeo and Juliet… with an empowering twist!)
“MJ the Musical” : Saturday 11:00 - Musical Theatre 101 (our very own MJ fanclub used iconic Michael Jackson hits to tell the story of how he became the ‘King of Pop’)
“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!” : Tuesday 4:00 & Saturday 10:15 - Broadway Babies I & II (telling the story of just how hard it is to be in the Pop industry when all you want to do is have fun! - featuring the classic pop hit by Cindy Lauper)
“SIX the Musical” : Tuesday 6:00 - Broadway Musical III (the show where these queens took HIStory and made it HERstory!)
Finale - FULL CAST: the perfect way to conclude a spectacular showcase!!
